Finally a universal remote that works. Easy to program and most importantly doesnt take an afternoon to make a change!

I learned the hard way. Bought the app only to discover it will only support two home entertainment devices and that you must buy another app for an additional $20 to control more. Plus another app and hardware for infra-red. The setup is also way too complicated - Ive done the harmony remote and while that too can be considered complicated, I mastered that and it was much more user friendly than this...
Love this app. The Samsung TV and Denon controls are flawless. Bell Expressvu almost. Roomie does not turn it on for some reason, but once on, all the commands work including guide, page up, down, etc. I plan to add wifi devices in the future. I recommend it, and welcome any support or suggestions about how to get my Bell Expressvu receiver to turn on.
people who rate this app poorly have no idea what theyre talking about. i went searching for a solution when my $1200 nevo s70 remote died. I figured there must be an ipad/iphone to iR solution. well with the $100 itach device and this app. I have the whole house controlled as well as simple macros built so my wife can watch cable, plex, Apple TV, or anything else with the click of a button. if you have all your devices in a separate room and are looking for an ipad/iphone, wifi to ir. this app with the itach device are the best.
Took me a bit to get it setup but once I finished it it works great!
Easy to set & use, yet its extremely capable.
Controlling two rooms with the majority of my gear in a small utility room. The optional IR over wifi works flawlessly. Great product just what I was looking for. My Bryston BDP1 is not supported hopefully this will be added in future releases.
Thanks!
Downloaded it, ran it, tries to update devices, cycles endlessly, uninstalled, tried again, no joy. Very disappointing.
The app is a great option for a universal remote but does have some minor issues. When you unlock your iPad even with the app running it takes 3 to 5 seconds to be able to respond to commands. Even though they say it has IR codes for Bell expressvu it did not work. But the learning option fixed that problem for me. Also noticed if you have network lag at times the commands can be sent multiple times, which for me was an issue on volume up, not good. But all in all it is a buy and works well and has huge potential with home automation.
I needed to remote control my gas fireplace so an Itach wifi to relay unit and some simple programming on Roomie and flawless performance. Amazing!
Purchased the app, all of the in app purchases, and the Global Cache iTach Flex. I was ONLY then able to determine that the application does not have most of the codes for my receiver, or my TV! Critical functions were missing all over, despite that the buttons are there. Apple TV and Sony Blueray worked Ok. I tried modifying each option to see if it would make a difference, and selecting other codes by the same manufacturer. Nothing made a difference. Not about to give up, I tried reprogramming each button manually using the learn function. This seemed to make no difference; as if it would just forget the learned buttons as soon as you were done. I hate to say this, as I had high expectations of Roomie, but, their compatibility list (at least with my components) borders on outright lies. Especially considering how far you need to be into your Roomie purchase to determine the incompatibility. Pioneer TV - most buttons did nothing, none of the inputs work, power works OK. Meridian controller - only mute, volume, and 3 rarely used commands work, none of the source buttons work. Sony Blueray player - worked ok. Apple TV - worked ok. I will continue hacking at it for a bit, and will update my review should it ever begin to work as advertised.
Say goodbye to line of sight control! Wifi is there, so why not use it to the max! This is not only my favorite app, but makes my whole property sing. Even my family can control all my devices inside and outside without help. Dim the lights in the living room and turn on a movie, turn off the TV in my daughters room if its too late, play the same song in the garage, etc. So many options and very easy to setup. Bye bye Harmony and hello heaven. Thanks Roomie!!! 6 stars
Hate paying for an app. FolloW all the steps and ending up with something that doesnt even work
It doesnt work. Whats worse is that you have to buy it to find out. Will they credit my App Store Account? Not likely. Dont waste your money. Youre better off spending your money at Tim Hortons. At least you will get some satisfaction with Timmys.
Liked the idea of this app. It found my tv and surround sound system but doesnt work with Canadian television receivers. Now it is completely useless.
After paying an originally inflated and supposedly one time price to get full functionality they then suddenly decide that you must pay a yearly subscription fee to keep that functionality! For the rest of my life! Pay you a yearly fee forever! I call bulls@#t on that. Next year they will create some other new yearly fee and so on until it cost more than a cable subscription. There is no way I am going allow you to gouge me forever! Buy Logitech! At least they only make you pay once. DO NOT BUY!!
I feel for it, dont you too!!! I bought this software and three of there adapters only to find out that half my equipment that they say is supported, isnt supported natively. I went through and paid more money for the in software add ons as a one time purchase, now I find out that what was once a one time payment has been changed to a subscription. So now Ill have to pay out even more to continue using what I have already paid forIm not to impressed with that after Ive spent about five hundred buck on all this stuff. Dont be fooled this software and equipment may have its perks but be forewarned it comes with a pretty hefty price tag.
App crashes on start :(
Very limited unless you purchase all the in app add-on.
